Byron Alley — Owner/Director of Swing Dynamite and co-founder of both Lindy Hoppers Anonymous (now the Swing Dance Association of Victoria) in Victoria, BC and Studio 88-Swing in Montreal, Byron has been teaching swing full-time since 2003 and DJ'ing almost as long, in some of the best swing venues and events in Canada. One of Canada's best-known swing dancers, Byron has won dozens of awards at swing competitions in the US and Canada, including the Canadian Swing Championships, the Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown, the American Lindy Hop Championships, and Boston Tea Party, dancing everything from Lindy Hop to Blues to West Coast Swing. Byron is passionate about sharing the spirit of all swing dance styles. He strives for authenticity and excitement in his classes, and he's enjoyed sharing his love of swing with dancers in well over a dozen cities in Canada and the US.
Natalia Rueda — Artistic Director and founding member of Swing Dynamite, Natalia has been a full-time swing dance teacher since 2007. Natalia coaches Swing Dynamite's award-winning, all-girl Charleston team, the Dynamite Girls, as well as the Lindy Hop teams TNTeam and the Rhythm Blasters. Natalia's many competition awards include winning first place at the Canadian Swing Championships two years in a row! She's taught and DJed at major Canadian events such as the Quebec Swing Rendez-Vous and Followlogie, and she's known for her versatility as a follower, having won awards for her Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing and Blues dancing in some of the most competitive dance competitions in North America. A native of Colombia, Natalia grew up dancing Salsa and Merengue. As she puts it, "I never went to a party where people didn't know how to partner dance until I came to Canada!" Her energy and creativity make her an exciting dancer to watch, and an equally fun teacher to learn from!
